This film has been adapted from the 1999 successful stage production by Alan Bennett. It tells the true story of an eccentric and homeless woman (Maggie Smith) who parks for a short time in Alan Bennett’s drive, but ends up staying for 15 years. Maggie Smith actually played the same role in the stage show and in a later Radio production. The film also stars Alex Jennings and Frances de la Tour, but watch out for the entire cast of Alan Bennett’s History Boys, who have minor roles ( e.g. Dominic Cooper, James Corden etc) This film starts at 7.30 and costs £8; the cut off is 22nd December.
