HomeAboutInformation for Members

As a WI member, you will enjoy a varied programme that is chosen by each WI; every member can contribute ideas to the annual programme of speakers, activities and events – the options are only limited by your imagination!  Each WI holds eleven meetings every year and you can also get involved in the various regional and national level events and activities. Great Bookham Belles WI usually meets on the 3rd Monday of the month every month except for August at Manor House School Little Bookham.

Your membership entitles you to eight copies a year of the WI membership magazine, WI Life, as well as regular newsletters and mailings to keep you up-to-date with all the news and events from your federation (a small charge may apply) and the NFWI. One unforgettable event not to be missed is the NFWI Annual Meeting, which brings together representatives from WIs all over the country to review the work of the organisation and vote on the resolutions that form the backbone of the NFWI’s campaigns.

Keeping in Touch Our monthly newsletter The Belles Update is emailed before each meeting, but do remember to visit this website to find out the latest news. We will also occasionally email you with news or essential admin. Should you need to contact us, you can do so by emailing contactbelleswi@gmail.com We also have a Facebook group (GreatBookhamBellesWi) and we’re on Twitter (@bookhambelleswi) and Instagram (greatbookhambelleswi).

Social Events Our social committee organises extra social events throughout the year. Click here for details of upcoming events.

Getting Involved We have a rota for the monthly meetings which means members are asked to provide and serve refreshments and help with the raffle . As we have a large membership, members only have to do this once in a blue moon. If you have any ideas about how to make our WI even better, then please get in touch either by email or the suggestions box we have at the Monthly Meetings. We’d love to hear your ideas!
