Belles’ Christmas Monthly Meeting was full of fun, laughter, Xmas jumpers, raffle, mulled wine and mince pies as usual!
Gin and Cheese!
A group of 17 Belles visited The Crossroads Store in Horsley this week for a Gin & Cheese Tasting Event. The gin we sampled was a delicious one from Sherlock & Sons Distillery of Ripley followed by several wonderful cheeses carefully chosen by Jenni from Crossroads Store. We were given plenty of time to look around this delightful shop and also took advantage of the book swapping service held in the telephone box outside the shop. Bring along a book you have read and swop for another one; recycling at its best! Thanks to Jenni for hosting this event and we hope to be back in the future.

Wimbledon Trip is a Smash!
16 Belles enjoyed a memorable trip to The All England Club, Wimbledon, and as trips go, this one rated highly in the rankings; we all felt we had scored an Ace having been served a perfect day out!
Denman Bursaries
At this month’s monthly meeting guest speaker, Andrea McLean, kindly drew out two winners for this year’s Great Bookham Belles WI Denman College Busaries. The two Bursaries are The Great Bookham Belles WI Bursary and The Carol Garrett Memorial Bursary, in remembrance of our lovely Belle Carol, who sadly lost her brave battle with Cancer in March this year. Congratulations to Alison R and Deborah S – both members were thrilled and are looking forward to booking themselves on a course to learn a new skill or craft.
Confessions of a Loose Woman
There’s nothing the Belles like better than a full on chat and gossip about women’s issues … and they weren’t disappointed when we were treated to an enjoyable and informative evening with ‘Loose Woman’ @andrea_mclean who had come to confess all about her latest book, the ‘Confessions of a Menopausal Woman’.
Strictly Costume Trip
Some of the Bookham Belles WI Crafts and Laughs group visited DSI Croydon, who design and make costumes for dancers, including the Strictly Come dancing TV shows in the UK and abroad.
