There’s nothing the Belles like better than a full on chat and gossip about women’s issues … and they weren’t disappointed when we were treated to an enjoyable and informative evening with ‘Loose Woman’ Andrea McLean; she had come to confess all about her latest book, the ‘Confessions of a Menopausal Woman’.
Andrea was an excellent speaker, taking us on her journey through her days in journalism & how she accidentally landed the role of weather girl in television, first on The Weather Channel and then GMTV on ITV, where she progressed to being the lead presenter on the popular daytime show ‘Loose Women’.
Today Andrea, still on Loose Women, is promoting her book Confessions of a Menopausal Woman. Based on her own experiences and women who have contacted her sharing theirs, she gave us an insight to her book; she enlightened us with all of the symptoms of the menopause and touched on some very personal issues which so many of us recognised. The evening was filled with fun and laughter, but also a great deal of knowledge sharing, on this very current subject, having been the topic of conversation on the BBC this last week.
A quick Q&A session followed, where Andrea was open to any type of question and of course we wanted to get the low-down on her fellow Loose Women presenters and who was the best person she’d interviewed .. which turned out to be Michael Bublé.
Book signing and photos ended another perfect Belles meeting – all in all good fun was had by everyone and we were left with the thought that despite so many women, approaching or in their 50s, feeling that they have had their life, it should be perceived as starting the second half with so much more to be achieved.
