Our President Amanda and Vice President Katharine, were invited to a fabulous afternoon at the Old Barn Hall for the Emlyn Downs Annual Meeting. The Emlyn Downs WI is an ‘umbrella’ WI for 6 of our local WIs: Ashtead, The Bookhams, Eastwick, Fetcham Village, Leatherhead Morning and Mole Valley.
The meeting started with the agenda and WI news which was followed by a beautiful lunch organised and prepared by Fetcham Village WI; it was really lovely.
The guest speaker was Broadcaster and News reporter Nicholas Owen who enlightened the audience with his tales of his life, being a Journalist on Fleet Street to becoming the Royal Correspondent for ITV. His fabulous stories of our Royal family and other celebrities kept everyone amused for over an hour! He spent a great deal of time afterwards chatting to the group and signing his book, even signing a personal copy for the Great Bookham Belles WI.
