After memberships had been renewed, last month, Belles returned to attend our February Monthly meeting and were delighted to welcome some new members. Many members had requested a speaker to give a presentation on First Aid and we were very glad to introduce Karen Wheatley a member of the Royal Life Saving Society and swimming teacher.
Karen was able to deliver a very clear and informative speech on life saving, CPR, defibrillators and choking, accompanied by well laid out slides and videos; she was able to hold our interest throughout. We even had audience participation – putting yourself in the recovery position whilst standing on one leg was a sight to behold and a fairly lengthy question and answer session! Members were very favourable of the talk and commented afterwards that felt they had learnt valuable information and would be more comfortable should the need arise to put that information into practice.
