This Wednesday (20th May) sees an important Day for Surrey WI as part of the Centenary Celebrations. The Centenary Baton that, on 1st Jan 2014, left Anglesey – home of the very first WI meeting in the UK – to start its long journey visiting all the Federations before finishing on 4th June 2015 at the Royal Albert Hall, will be reaching Surrey. It just so happens that this will take place in Bookham at the Old Barn Hall. The day long event will have craft displays and stalls showcasing what the WI does best. There will also be refreshments and sales of cakes, produce and preserves. £3 a ticket £4 on the door for all members.
