After a couple of years covid absence from #Bookham’s Village Day Belles were delighted to return only to be winners again of the best dressed stall! Congratulations also to Bookham Bees WI for coming a worthy 2nd. Jubilee themed our stall not only proved to be striking but showed without a doubt how much work had gone into dressing it. Not only with Jolly jars coronated and jewelled, some staged in a Union Jack placement, some very topically adorned Paddington Labels complete with Paddington Bear (to win) even accompanied by a marmalade sandwich ( to be eaten by our pièce de rèsistance?). The pièce de rèsistance being Paddington himself making an appearance thanks to our President bringing his presence to life out of her own handbag, despite the heat! A fantastic team effort yet again to all involved and another event to cherish for our WI!
