ruth-ellis-new-coverMonica Weller, is a Bookham author who co-wrote a book exploring the case of the last woman in England to be hanged, Ruth Ellis.  She co-wrote the book with Ellis’ sister Muriel Jakubai after working with her for three years.

She believes Ellis was innocent and her book explores evidence including the fact that the .38 Smith and Wesson gun used to murder David Blakely would have required a two-handed operation but Ellis’ left hand was gnarled by rheumatic fever, that Ellis had received no firearms training and the crime took place in the dark, yet three out of four bullets were accurately fired.
